ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
I enjoy equally "plein air" painting and "studio" painting. I paint to celebrate life. It's the fulfillment of my day. I'm uplifted and that makes me happy.
I've spent a lifetime observing nature and the way light and atmosphere affect the landscape and objects.
I work to translate my love of nature to each viewer, transforming their perception and evoke wonder.
I want the viewer to see and feel the emotion that went into every stroke.
Something that can be felt and seen in the texture of the carved paint made by the
stiff bristle brushes and knives that I use to create them.
They are as much a part of the experience as the composition and colors that I choose.
