ARTIST'S STATEMENT:

I have not studied art so much as simply done it.  My formal training and bachelors’ degree is in Landscape Architecture, so at the very least, I can draft and letter.  Since the principles of design are applicable to a broad range of media and technique, it isn’t much of a stretch for an adventurous, somewhat confident, and unreasonably curious artist to try new things.

Whereas I am used to the meticulous processes done in the studio, Plein Air painting is a new experience and a new challenge.  I expect to produce a lot of turkeys before mastering this high-pressure style.  With no time to quibble over detail, I'm forced to commit my feelings to canvas and deal with the results.  No problem.  It’s never too late to learn something new and fun.
