ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
 

Aida Garrity began her artistic career at age 6.  Her main artistic goal is to produce art that would captivate people’s eyes.

She is in the process of earning a Masters of Fine Arts from the Academy of Arts in San Francisco.  Her expected graduation date will be the fall of 2010.   Her work has been exhibited in several local shows, where they have garnered high praise and won a variety of awards.  She is a member of the Portrait Society of America, Dublin Art League, Worthington Art League and Ohio Plein Air.

Aida’s statement consists of creating Classically-Realistic  inspired painting finely conceived and executed.   “Classical” because my work tends to exhibit a preference for order, beauty, harmony, and completeness.   “Realistic” because its basic vocabulary comes from the representation of nature.

In my paintings, I like undertaking the challenge of crafting a composition containing elements that will transmit a story to the viewer.  Capturing the mood of the model together with his/her situation and environment is what makes the work of an artist to be so exciting.
